With so many sites to browse we've saved you time by putting together our own personal recommendations covering travel guides, things to do, eat/drink/dance, further-a-field and recommended accommodation.
Whatever and where-ever you end up we hope you have a great trip!
NEIGHBOURGOODS MARKET...one of the first and still the most popular gourmet markets featuring over 100 specialty traders located in The Old Biscuit Mill. Tucked away in one of Cape Town's poorer suburbs this venue attracts a trendy crowd where you can enjoy organic bacon butties with home brew beer.
STELLENBOSCH SLOW MARKET...local organic and natural goods market not just for the food and drink lovers. A great excuse to grab a coffee or glass of wine and meander around this popular local event. Located at Oude Libertas wine farm; very relaxed feel with plenty of open space to buy produce then sit on the lawns overlooking the vines and enjoy a picnic.
BAY HABOUR MARKET - HOUT BAY...weekend vibrant indoor food & craft market housed in an old fish factory. Lively social shopping and eating experience with music and live entertainment.
WILLOWBRIDGE SLOWFOOD MARKET...located inside the open long courtyard of this shopping centre you can buy local crafted and grown produce as well shop at high street stores.
V&A FOOD MARKET...just alongside the Nobel Laureate Square and inside the historic Power Station you'll find a collection of foodie stalls including a butchery, bakers, confectioners, dairy products etc. Our favourite is Jane's cheese counter; say hello from us! Great spot to enjoy a late breakfast on outdoor benches looking back across the working harbour towards Table Mountain.
BLAAUWKLIPPEN FAMILY MARKET...head towards Stellenbosch and this very chilled outdoor market caters for the whole family with a great selection of food, wine and beer that you can enjoy on the open lawn areas listening to live music; pony rides and friendly goats for the kids.
ORANJEZICHT CITY FARM MARKET DAY...local city grown produce from Oranjezicht outgrew it's original market location and moved to Granger Bay close to the V&A Waterfront. Very popular with all city types and check out Jane's cheese stall and pass on our best!
